Unmulting offers the ability to blend black-background effect onto footage differently to traditional blending modes. Add and Screen transfer modes will still allow the background to appear behind the effect, whereas unmulting makes the effect opaque.
This additional opacity is great in situations where your effect shouldn't appear "on-top" of your footage, such as fire in the daytime.
Unmulting is also great for processing footage that needs to be given a transparent backgrounds, such as lens flares, rain, fire and snow.
The Bias parameter controls the threshold of where transparency should be applied.
